As I have been named the 2019 ComArtSci Faculty Impact award winner, I was invited to all of the events.<\/p>\n<p>First thing first, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/comartsci.msu.edu\/celebration-news-19\">our alumni are amazing<\/a><\/span><\/span>! It was a great opportunity to see what our students do once they leave and the impacts that they are making in the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Second, the focus or theme this year for the alumni board was on health. I was\u00a0honored to be asked to do the keynote and present on my research (I talked<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-257 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/breeholtz.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Screen-Shot-2019-04-16-at-9.26.43-AM-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/breeholtz.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Screen-Shot-2019-04-16-at-9.26.43-AM-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/breeholtz.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Screen-Shot-2019-04-16-at-9.26.43-AM-768x430.jpg 768w, https:\/\/breeholtz.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Screen-Shot-2019-04-16-at-9.26.43-AM-644x361.jpg 644w, https:\/\/breeholtz.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Screen-Shot-2019-04-16-at-9.26.43-AM.jpg 1610w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>about <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/myt1d.org\">MyT1DHero<\/a>,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/myt1dhope.msu.edu\">MyT1DHope<\/a><\/span><\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/caps.msu.edu\/services\/ISSP.html#MySSP\">MySSP<\/a><\/span> &#8211; and of course the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/comartsci.msu.edu\/hrcma\">Health &amp; Risk Communication MA program<\/a><\/span>). But during this, I also got to hear about the great research our faculty are doing. Even though we work together and chat, sometimes we don&#8217;t get into what we are doing research-wise every day.<\/p>\n<p>The most fun part of the weekend was actually <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/1DVENI7dclA\">receiving the award and thanking everyone<\/a> <\/span><\/span>who has helped me get to this place in my career.
